The new Shelly Motion WiFi motion sensor has the following peculiarities:

Shelly Motion is a single unit with a rounded shape.

Made of plastic, the dimensions are 85 x 59 x 36 mm.

The power supply is guaranteed by an internal battery (3.7V - 7000 mAh), rechargeable thanks to the Micro-USB connector located in the lower part of the body, next to which we find a small button, which can be operated thanks to the supplied "pin". .

On the whole body we do not find other connectors or buttons, with the exception of course of the convex window that allows the sensor placed inside to perform the readings.

Shelly Motion has on board a passive infrared sensor (also called PIR) which uses the heat of objects to detect their presence and then deduce their movement. This sensor is adjustable, a particularly valuable function in the event of the presence of pets in the area to be monitored.

We also find on board an always useful brightness sensor with adjustable sensitivity as well as a tamper sensor for anti-tampering based on vibrations (the sensor is therefore, de facto, also a vibration sensor).

The declared operational range of motion detection is 8 meters, while the optimal height for mounting is between declared between 2.2 and 2.5 meters.

Fully compatible with Alexa , Home Assistant , Smartthings , Windows , Mac and other third party home automation platforms

Shelly Motion is equipped with a front LED that signals the sensor operating modes and alarms.

In particular:

non-flashing blue light: Pairing mode;

flashing red light: Motion detected and signaled;

green flashing light: Motion detected, signaling disabled;

blue / green / red sequence: Reboot or vibration detected;

flashing blue light: Firmware update;

single flashing blue light: Change settings

Shelly Motion can only be mounted on the wall: given its shape, it is not possible to simply place it on a flat surface.

As for the button next to the Micro-USB connector, this allows, through different types of pressure, to trigger certain situations:

short press during AP mode: wakes the device from sleep mode to trigger the AP (for 3 minutes, after which the device will turn off to save battery);

short press during the "operating" mode: transmits the current status of the sensor; press for 5 seconds during the "operating" mode: the AP is enabled;

Press for 10 seconds during "operating" mode: a reset to factory settings is performed.
