The Tuya smart outdoor lock opens the door with 3D facial recognition , fingerprint, password, IC card, app, included remote control, or mechanical key. The front panel with camera, fingerprint reader, and keypad is mounted on the outside, protected by a hinged cover to protect against rain and dust; the box with the knob and a second fingerprint reader is fixed inside. When someone rings, a video call arrives on your phone: you can see them, talk to them, and open the door even from afar with the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app. It stores up to 300 users, with 50 faces and 100 fingerprints. It runs on the included 7.4V 2000mAh lithium battery and connects to your 2.4GHz home Wi-Fi. It fits doors from 20 to 80mm.
Tuya Smart App: Remote Opening, Log, and Family Members
In the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app, the lock has its own page: with a long touch, you can open the door remotely, view the battery level, and find the album and log of accesses, with the name of who entered and how. From here, you can manage family members and create temporary, one-time, or permanent passwords to send to guests, family members, and couriers. You receive access notifications and an alert when someone lingers in front of the door for an extended period. With the app's automations, opening or an alarm on the lock can trigger other Tuya devices, such as your home lights.
Video intercom in the app: see who's ringing and talk to them from your phone
There's a doorbell button in front of the door: when someone presses it, a notification arrives on your phone and a video call opens. You can see who's there thanks to the lock's camera and speak to them through the built-in microphone and speaker , just like with a video intercom. If it's someone you're expecting, you can open the door remotely directly from the app, even when you're away. Photos and videos of access are stored in the app's album, so you can check who's been there later. The video intercom requires that the lock is connected to your home's 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and that the signal reaches the door well.
Seven ways to open: face, fingerprint, password, card and key
The lock opens in seven ways : 3D face, fingerprint, 6-8 digit password, IC card, app, remote control, and mechanical key. The cards are 13.56 MHz Mifare IC cards, like the Mifare keychain IC tags and the silicone Mifare bracelet . For more sensitive entry, you can request two verification methods at the same time , for example face and password. The virtual password protects against eavesdropping: you enter up to 20 digits with random numbers before and after the real one. The model is the PST-V8-2F, the one with the double fingerprint; the image also shows the PST-V8, which has a single reader.
3D facial recognition even with a beard, glasses or hood
The front camera features 3D facial recognition : approach, and the lock recognizes you and opens in seconds, without you having to touch anything. Even small changes in your face, such as a beard, glasses, or a hood , are recognized, and the lock stores up to 50 faces . An infrared sensor activates it when you approach: you can adjust the sensitivity from high to low, or even turn it off, from the menu. It's the most convenient way to get in with your hands full, for example with shopping bags or a child in your arms, and for those in the family who don't like remembering passwords or carrying cards.
Double fingerprint: one reader outside and one on the inside box
The semiconductor fingerprint reader on the front panel opens with a single touch in less than a second, with a light ring indicating the result. The PST-V8-2F also has a second fingerprint reader on the inside case, along with the card and key slots: this way, you can open the door with just your finger even from the inside, without having to search for the knob in the dark. The lock stores up to 100 fingerprints , and each user can register up to four, in addition to a password and a card. Fingerprints are registered from the lock menu by pressing your finger five times until the ring turns green.
Folding cover against rain and dust for outdoors
The front panel features a hinged cover that protects the camera, fingerprint reader, and keypad from rain and dust. When needed, you lift it up and close it over the controls. This makes this lock ideal for exterior doors and iron gates, where the front panel is exposed to the elements. It operates from -25 to +65°C and with humidity ranging from 5 to 95% non-condensing. The body is made of aluminum alloy and stainless steel. The black front panel measures 175 × 65 × 34 mm, so it remains compact even on narrow gate jambs.
7.4V 2000mAh lithium battery, key and emergency USB-C port
The lock runs on a 7.4V 2000mAh lithium battery , included in the package. When the battery runs low, the lock alerts you with a low battery alarm, giving you time to intervene. If the battery runs out completely, you have two options: open it with the mechanical key in the front cylinder or connect a power bank to the emergency USB-C port under the front and open it as usual. The lock is suitable for doors 20 to 80 mm thick: external iron doors and gates, steel doors, framed doors, and wooden doors. A 30 mm through-hole for the cable is drilled into the door, then the faceplate and the 130 x 98 mm internal box are secured with two long screws; the strike plate is mounted on the frame. The lock stores up to 300 users and offers voice guidance in 13 languages, including English, French, German, and Spanish, but not Italian; it can be deactivated from the menu.
