No, it's not necessary for the basic operation of the lock. You can use all the main functions, including access codes, fingerprints, IC cards, and the WELOCK app. The gateway is only necessary if you want to control the lock remotely via the app when you're away from home.
There may be stains on the door lock or on your finger. Clean them thoroughly to improve recognition accuracy. When registering your fingerprint, be sure to scan it from different angles as required, as this also facilitates recognition.
When the battery drops below 20%, the lock emits a warning tone and the keypad lights up red. If the battery is completely dead, you can use the physical emergency key or connect a power bank via the micro-USB port to unlock it.
