DC12V PIR Window and Door Curtain Detector with NO/NC Output for Alarm Control Panel
Curtain Sensor for Security Alarm
The PIR curtain motion sensor is an indoor perimeter detector designed to precisely protect doors, windows, and small passageways when connected to standard 12V wired alarm control panels . Thanks to its narrow-beam lens, it creates a true "invisible curtain" in front of the glass: it detects passage only along the line of crossing, avoiding the false alarms typical of wide-angle sensors when moving inside the room. Its coverage is approximately 9 m x 1.2 m with a 10° angle, perfect for French doors, balconies, corridors, and garden access points. The most innovative feature is movement direction recognition . The sensor can distinguish whether a person is entering or exiting the protected area and, via internal settings, allows the alarm to be triggered only in the direction considered an intrusion. In practice, the system can ignore anyone leaving the house or looking out the window, but immediately activate the alarm if someone enters from outside. This logic drastically reduces unwanted alarms and makes the sensor ideal as a perimeter sensor for doors and windows , even in highly frequented environments. If you prefer, the directional function can be disabled and the device works as a simple traditional curtain PIR . If you are looking for a curtain motion sensor for home alarms that offers high security, a reduction in false alarms and compatibility with wired security control panels on the market, this model is the ideal choice.
Mini Design - Elegant
Thanks to the 9–16 V DC NO/NC relay output, this sensor is fully compatible with the wired alarm control panels available in our store and with most 12 V burglar alarm systems. Connection is simple: two wires for power, two for the alarm contact, and terminals dedicated to the tamper switch. The internal electronics filters out interference and stabilizes detection, so the sensor remains reliable even in environments subject to small temperature changes or light reflections. If you're building a new system or want to upgrade your security system with more intelligent perimeter protection, this PIR curtain sensor is the perfect complement to the wired control panels for sale on Expert4House. Add it to your cart along with the control panel and magnetic contacts to create complete door and window protection, with an excellent quality/price ratio and the security of components designed to work together.
Perimeter Curtain Protection for Windows and French Windows
With the PIR curtain sensor, you can create an invisible vertical barrier in front of large windows, sliding doors, and floor-to-ceiling windows, as shown in the figure. The red area represents the "blade" volume monitored by the sensor: if someone passes through the curtain from the outside, the alarm is activated, while inside you can continue to move freely without generating false alarms. This solution is perfect for living rooms with large glass surfaces, verandas, and garden access. By installing multiple curtain sensors in series and connecting them to wired alarm control panels , you obtain continuous perimeter protection across the entire window front, without impacting the furnishings and maintaining maximum natural light.
Parameters and Installation
The PIR curtain motion sensor works with a 9–16 V DC power supply and has very low consumption, with a few milliamps in standby and a slightly higher absorption during the alarm, so it can be easily integrated into any wired 12 V burglar alarm control panel. The coverage is a narrow blade approximately 9 m long by 1.2 m wide , with an opening angle of only 10°, ideal for protecting windows, French windows and corridors without monitoring the entire room. It can be installed on both walls and ceilings up to 4 metres high , while still maintaining stable detection on people moving between 0.2 and 3.5 m/s . The alarm time is approximately 3 seconds , while the intervention delay can be adjusted between 40 seconds, 2 minutes, 4 minutes or 10 minutes, so you can adapt it to the needs of your system (entry or exit time). The direction recognition function allows you to reverse the alarm direction, deciding whether to consider entry or exit from the protected area as an intrusion.
Yes. The sensor operates at 9–16 V DC and has a NO/NC relay output , making it compatible with most 12V wired alarm control panels on the market (and those sold on Expert4house). Simply connect the power supply, alarm contact, and tamper switch.
This model is intended for indoor use or in environments protected from the elements (under balconies, enclosed verandas, etc.). For completely outdoor installations, it is always best to use specific sensors with a higher degree of protection.
This means the sensor can distinguish the direction the curtain is passing through (e.g., from inside to outside or from outside to inside), and you can decide which direction the alarm should go off. This way, you can avoid notifications when you leave the house but immediately detect anyone entering from outside .
The lens generates a curtain beam with a coverage of approximately 9 m long by 1.2 m wide and an angle of approximately 10°. It is designed to protect single French windows, balconies, corridors, or linear glass windows.
It can be mounted on walls or ceilings, up to 4 m high. In standard homes, it is often installed about 2.2–2.5 m from the wall, or 2.5–3 m from the ceiling, with the joint adjusted to correctly “cut” the area to be protected.
The sensor integrates a tamper contact that opens if the casing is removed or forced. It must be connected to the control panel's tamper line (in series with the other tamper switches in the system) to receive signals in the event of sabotage attempts.
