Bluetooth LPG/Propane Tank Level Gauge – Contactless, Battery Powered
New from Expert4House: the level gauge for tanks and cylinders that finally tells you how much gas you have left without having to guess. The contactless ultrasonic sensor installs on the bottom of the tank (without drilling or invasive procedures) and allows you to monitor everything easily via smartphone. With the Tank IoT app (iOS/Android), add the device in just a few seconds via Bluetooth , set the tank shape and key measurements, and the app automatically calculates the level in % , estimated capacity/volume , depth, and alarm status. You can also adjust the detection frequency : choose how often to update the data to find the best balance between updates and battery life. For even more peace of mind, you can set minimum and maximum level alerts (also via email) so you always know when it's the right time to refill or replace the cylinder. The device is powered by a CR2032 battery , so no cables or plugs: install it once and use it every day with maximum convenience. Important note: After the first setup, to view or update the data you just need to be within Bluetooth range .
Compact bottom LPG sensor
This ultrasonic sensor installs on the bottom of the LPG tank in a compact and discreet format, ideal even in domestic settings such as kitchens and closets. Installation is designed to be quick and clean: magnetic fastening (with adhesive backing where necessary) and no invasive intervention on the tank is required. Once mounted, you can monitor everything directly from the Tank IOT app: gas level percentage , estimated capacity/volume, depth, and alarm status, with a clear and immediate display. Furthermore, thanks to Bluetooth monitoring , you always have the situation under control when you are within connection range, and you can also consult the history to understand consumption and trends over time.
Tank IoT App: Bluetooth configuration
With the Tank IoT app, you can configure and use the sensor in a simple, guided way: simply activate Bluetooth , search for the device nearby, and tap "Add device" to complete the pairing. Once connected, you can manage multiple sensors from the app (useful if you have multiple tanks at home, in a camper, or in a second home) and keep everything under control from a single screen. The interface is designed to be immediate at a glance: by selecting the shape of the tank , the app adapts the graphics (horizontal tank, gas cylinder/cylinder, oil tank) and displays key data such as capacity , depth , level percentage , and alarm status . Additionally, you can activate reminders/alerts to receive notifications when the level drops below set thresholds or when you want to conveniently monitor the situation, avoiding unpleasant surprises.
Bottom installation in minutes: magnetic fixing + glue included
The sensor installs directly on the bottom of the gas tank/tank , without drilling or modifying the system: simply position it in the correct area and start monitoring the level from the app. The main attachment is magnetic , ideal when the bottom of the tank is made of metal and can "hook" the sensor immediately. To ensure a perfect seal even in more difficult conditions (a less than perfectly clean bottom, surfaces less suitable for the magnet, or simply for extra attachment), we also provide a dedicated glue : it is applied to the rubber ring of the sensor and allows for stable and long-lasting adhesion. For maximum accuracy, we recommend mounting it on a flat, clean, and smooth surface , preferably in the center of the bottom of the tank, to obtain more reliable and consistent readings.
Maximum range 2 metres: suitable for LPG cylinders and tanks
The ultrasonic sensor offers a measurement range from 5 cm to 2 meters , making it suitable for use on a wide range of LPG and propane tanks, from standard gas cylinders to larger tanks. This means it can accurately read the level even when the tank is high, maintaining reliable control of the residual gas. It's a versatile solution for both indoor installations (such as in utility rooms or near the kitchen) and outdoor tanks , as the sensor works from the bottom and doesn't require drilling or removing any holes in the tank: you simply mount it underneath and check the level using the app when you're within Bluetooth range. The extended range also helps ensure more stable readings on tanks of different shapes and capacities.
Check LPG wherever you use it
This level meter is designed for those who use LPG every day and want to avoid surprises: it works perfectly both indoors (kitchen, utility room, garage) and outdoors (garden, campsite, outdoor tank). In practice, you can always know how much fuel you have left before cooking, heating water, or turning on a stove, without having to "try and see." It's also ideal for mobile or seasonal uses such as campers, barbecues , food trucks , boats , and BBQ grills : you install the sensor on the bottom of the tank and, when you're nearby, you can check the level directly from the app. This way, you can schedule refills or tank replacements in advance, reducing waste, interruptions, and inconveniences.
No more guessing, you always know how much battery life you have left
This level gauge is incredibly useful because it solves a problem everyone knows: with LPG (or a tank), you often go by "feel" until, suddenly, it runs out at the worst possible moment . With the sensor installed under the tank, however, you can check the level percentage , estimated capacity/volume , and alarm status from the app, so you know in advance when it's time to refill or replace the cylinder. The advantage isn't just convenience: it's also safety and organization . You avoid interruptions while cooking, using a stove, or when you're in a camper. And, thanks to the history, you can also understand how much you're using and better plan refills, avoiding waste and unpleasant surprises. In short: install once and then stop guessing.
Correct installation and accurate readings
To obtain truly reliable measurements, installation must be done correctly. First of all, it is important to check that the tank can "hook" the magnet and that the mounting point on the bottom is flat, without curvatures . If the bottom is uneven or there is residue/sediment, the reading may be less stable: this is why cleaning is a fundamental step. The sensor is compact (diameter Ø 72 mm , thickness approximately 12 mm ), so it easily adapts to most tanks and cylinders. After cleaning the bottom, apply the included glue directly to the rubber ring (sonar) with complete coverage (100%) , then immediately attach the sensor to the bottom of the tank: the magnet helps with positioning, while the glue ensures an extra and long-lasting hold. Result? Stable mounting and more accurate readings over time, without drilling or invasive interventions .
No problem: in addition to the magnetic attachment, you can use ultrasonic glue (coupling agent) to ensure a stable bond. The important thing is to apply it correctly to the sensor's rubber ring and attach it to a clean, smooth surface.
Yes. For accurate readings, the installation area must be flat and smooth, free of sharp curves, holes, protruding welds, or rust. If the surface is uneven, ultrasound transmission may be less effective and the measurement may lose accuracy.
It eliminates the "air cushion" between the sensor and the tank wall. Air reduces the transmission of ultrasonic waves: with glue (used as a coupler), transmission is more efficient and the reading is more stable and accurate.
Yes. Foam, sediment, or suspended matter can generate irregular echoes and reduce accuracy. For best results, use the sensor on clean tanks and place it in a sediment-free area of the bottom.
