Neutral-free WiFi Switch Module: 1 to 4 Channel Smart Lights with Your Switches
The WiFi switch module without neutral makes your existing lights smart: it mounts in the flush-mounted box behind the switch, leaving the plates and switches in place. The neutral is optional , so you can install it even where only the phase and lamp return wires arrive in the box. Choose from four versions: 1, 2, 3, or 4 channels , each with a load of 10 to 100 W at 200-240 V. Turn them on and off from the wall control, from the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app , and with your voice via Amazon Alexa and Google Home . It also works with two two-way switches, to control the same light from two points. It connects to your home's 2.4 GHz WiFi network, and the package includes a resistor for the L1 lamp.
From 1 to 4 channels to control each light point separately
Each version has a channel for each light to be controlled: the 1-channel manages a single light point, the 2-channel manages two, up to the 4-channel , which controls four separate lights in a single recessed module. Each channel has its own output, from L1 to L4, and its own input for the switch, from S1 to S4: in the app each output appears as a separate control, with the name of your choice. The permitted load is from 10 to 100 W per channel , with AC 200-240 V 50/60 Hz power supply. Below 10 W the lamp does not need to be connected. If the box has a neutral wire, connect it to the N terminal; if it is not, the module will still work.
Tuya Smart or Smart Life app to manage your lights even when you're away from home
After pairing in the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app, each channel becomes a button on your phone: turn the lights on and off from any room, even when you're away from home, as long as the module is connected to Wi-Fi and the internet. The wall switch continues to work as before, so anyone who isn't using their phone can turn on the lights as they always have. You can rename the channels, organize them by room, and share control with other family members. The same app manages other Tuya devices in the house: the module enters into automations along with sensors, sockets, and thermostats, for example, to turn on the hallway light when you open the door.
Voice commands with Amazon Alexa and Google Home for each channel
By connecting your Tuya or Smart Life account to the Amazon Alexa or Google Home app, each channel of the module becomes a light that the assistant recognizes by name. Say "Alexa, turn on the living room light" or "Ok Google, turn off the bedroom light," and the command is sent to the module via WiFi. With the multi-channel versions, each light has its own name, so you can control them individually or together, inserting them into a room or an assistant routine. This is convenient when your hands are full, when you're already in bed, or when you want to turn everything off as you leave the house. The assistant speakers and smart screens are not included.
In the flush-mounted box, with rocker switches or buttons
The module measures 39.2 × 39.2 × 18 mm and fits into the flush-mounted box behind the switch, or into the lamp's ceiling. The screw terminals hold the wires securely, eliminating the need for masonry work. You can keep your existing switches: it works with rocker controls, which stay in the position you leave them in, and with return buttons , which return to their original position after being pressed. You can set the control type in the app, so the light always responds correctly. If you also want to replace the wall control, you can find smart WiFi wall switches in the catalog, which combine the button and module in a single product.
Two-way control with existing system diverters
Many lights are turned on from two points, such as in a hallway or bedroom, with two two -way switches . The module maintains this connection: the two two-way switches connect to the switch input as in the diagram in the gallery, and the light turns on and off from both points as before. Plus, you can control it from the app and with your voice: you can turn it on from your phone and off using the two-way switch, or vice versa. It's the solution for making an existing system smart without rewiring the two controls. Each channel of the 2-, 3-, and 4-channel versions can have its own two-way control, with its own input, from S1 to S4.
Pulse timer, countdown timer and cyclic programs
From the app, you can set three timers for each channel. The pulse timer turns the light off automatically after a preset time, such as one minute after the stairwell light is turned on. The countdown timer turns the light on or off only once, at the end of the preset time: convenient for children's bedroom lights. The cyclic timer repeats the same times every day, such as on at 6:30 PM and off at 10:00 PM, useful for entering the room or for simulating presence when you're away. With any timer active, the light can still be turned on and off manually from the wall switch.
Light status after a blackout: on, off, or last state
When power comes back on after a power outage, you can choose how each light restarts: on , off, or in the last state it had before the outage. Off is the most prudent setting for lights you don't want to find on when you return; the last state is useful for lights controlled by timers or automations. The setting can be changed from the app at any time, channel by channel. If you need relays for other loads, such as sockets, pumps, or appliances, you can find all the smart WiFi built-in relays in the catalog. Below you can see the smart modules and relays closest to this one, in WiFi and Zigbee versions.
Groups of lights to turn on and off with a single tap in the app
In the app, you can combine multiple modules, or multiple channels of the same module, into a group : with a single touch , you can turn on or off all the lights in the room, floor, or house. A group can also be controlled like a single light with Alexa and Google Home, for example, "turn off all the lights" when you leave. Groups can be combined with scenes and automations in the Tuya Smart or Smart Life apps: in the evening, you can turn on the kitchen and living room together, and in the morning, turn everything off with a single command. Each light in the group can also be controlled individually, from its own wall switch or button in the app.
2.4 GHz WiFi and Bluetooth connection, without hub or gateway
The module connects directly to your home's 2.4 GHz WiFi network (802.11 b/g/n) and does not require a hub or gateway. 5 GHz-only networks are not supported: if your router broadcasts on both bands with the same name, it's best to keep your phone on 2.4 GHz during pairing. The module integrates a WiFi and Bluetooth radio: the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app uses Bluetooth to find and pair the module, while remote and voice control is via WiFi. If you already have a Zigbee gateway at home and prefer a Zigbee network, you can find the same function in the Zigbee flush-mounted smart relays , including the Zigbee version of this module without neutral, from 1 to 4 channels.
Connection diagram, resistor included and technical data of the module
Each version has the terminal diagram on the label: L for phase, L1-L4 for the lamps, S1-S4 for the switches, and N for neutral, if applicable. The resistor , included in the package, must be mounted in parallel with the lamp connected to L1, near the lamp itself, and the lamp must exceed 10 W. The diagrams in the gallery show three cases: without a switch, with one switch, and with two two-way switches. Technical data: AC 200-240 V 50/60 Hz, 10 to 100 W per channel, WiFi 2.412-2.484 GHz, operating temperature from -10 to +40 °C, humidity up to 90%, IP20 protection rating for dry interiors. Installation must be carried out with the system switched off, by qualified personnel.
No. The neutral wire is optional: the module works with only the phase and the lamp return. If the neutral wire is present in the box, you can connect it to the N terminal.
Yes, it's included. It must be mounted in parallel with the lamp connected to L1, near the lamp itself, as in the tunnel wiring diagrams. The lamp on L1 must exceed 10 W.
No. The module only works on the 2.4 GHz WiFi network. If your router uses the same name for both bands, keep your phone on the 2.4 GHz band during pairing.
No. The module connects directly to your home Wi-Fi and is managed with the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app. For a Zigbee network, there's a Zigbee version of the same module, which requires a gateway.
Yes. It works with rocker switches and push-button switches: choose the type in the app. With two two-way switches, you can control the same light from two points.
For dry interior use only: the protection rating is IP20, with operating temperatures ranging from -10 to +40°C and humidity up to 90%. It should not be installed outdoors or in humid environments.
