The 4-pipe system offers simultaneous heating and cooling on different zones because the hot and cold supply/return circuits are separate : no mixing losses, rapid response and constant comfort all year round. The thermostat independently controls the hot and cold valves, opening/closing the correct circuit and adjusting the fan speed for uniform air diffusion.
