The door and window sensor works by detecting the proximity and distance between the transmitter and the magnet to determine the open/closed state of the door/window. Its open/closed and tampered states are primarily used to trigger intelligent automations, such as turning on lights, activating alarms, or starting home security camera recording.
Installing a door or window sensor is divided into 3 phases:
Step 1: Apply 3M adhesive to the designated area of the door detector sensor.
Step 2: Align the alignment mark on the transmitter and the magnet as precisely as possible.
Step 3: Attach the transmitter and magnet to the door or window frame.
*Note: The magnet can be installed horizontally or vertically, and can be removed and installed separately when space is limited.
The number of door and window contact sensors you need depends on what you want to monitor. In addition to doors and windows, the smart sensor can be used on baby safety gates, pet doors or cages, medicine cabinets, drawers, refrigerators, safes, and more.
The sensor detects the relative distance between the main sensor and the magnet. When they are moved closer or further apart, the sensor switches between "open" and "closed."
