Once motion is detected, the controller starts a pre-set dynamic program (such as the wave effect or uniform LED flow) that lights up the steps or segments in sequence, improving comfort and safety. Thanks to the integrated WiFi, the ES-D(WT) can also be managed via the Tuya / Smart Life app on a smartphone, with the possibility of changing modes, times, speeds and effects without physically accessing the device. The Tuya Smart WiFi SPI Digital LED Strip Controller is designed to work with most RGB or white pixel strips on the market. It supports two SPI (TTL) outputs with the same signal and up to 960 total pixels at 5–24V DC , allowing you to manage long and scenic installations without synchronization issues. Thanks to the configuration menu, you can select the chip type and R/G/B order directly from the controller or the Tuya app: popular ICs such as TM1804, TM1809, TM1812, TM1829, TM1914A, UCS1903/1909/1912, UCS2903/2909/2912, WS2811, WS2812, LPD6803, LPD8803/8806, WS2801, WS2803, P9813, SK9822, SM16703P and many others are supported. The SPI Tuya controller lets you create spectacular stairway effects , both with white light and digital RGB LED strips. By connecting the two PIR sensors (up and down), the two buttons, and the pixel LED strips, each step or segment lights up in sequence following the movement, with flow or gradation modes. It's also possible to cascade multiple controllers to the same auto-return button, so you can manage long ramps, corridors, or multiple light walls with a single command.
The controller features a 3-digit digital display and four front buttons that allow you to precisely configure all the stairway lighting parameters, without a PC or external tools. From the panel, you can choose the type of light (1 LED white, 3 LED white, RGB), the output mode (continuous flow or steps), the number of steps , and the number of pixels per step, so you can adapt the controller to any stairway or corridor lit with your digital LED strips. From the menu, you can also define the switch-off mode (sequential, inverse, or synchronized), the switch-on mode , the delay time before switching off, the activation of the daylight sensor (LUX) , and the range of pixels managed (from 32 to 960).
The controller already includes a built-in light sensor , so there's no need to purchase additional modules. You can set the stair lights to turn on only when it's dark and set the switch-off delay from 5 seconds to 60 minutes , so the light stays on only as long as necessary. The automatic return button can also have its own adjustable on/off time (0–15.5 s), ideal for corridors, ramps, or fast passages.
It also works without WiFi as a normal standalone stairwell/corridor controller: just connect PIR sensors or buttons. WiFi is used to configure and change effects and parameters via the Tuya /Smart Life app.
This controller is designed for digital SPI (“pixel” type) RGB or white LED strips, powered between 5V and 24V DC, up to 960 pixels in total. It is not suitable for traditional analog LED strips (non-pixel type 5050/2835).
No, the kit does not include a power supply: you must use a 5-24V DC power supply suitable for the voltage and total power of the connected LED strips. The controller manages the signal and inputs; the power supply for the strips must be sized separately.
The two PIR sensors allow you to activate the light from both sides of the staircase or corridor (e.g., entrance/exit). When a person enters the detection field (angle approximately 30°, range up to 3 m), the controller automatically starts the preset lighting program.
The twilight sensor measures ambient light and prevents the strips from turning on when there's sufficient light in the room. This prevents the LED strips from turning on during the day, minimizing consumption and wear.
Yes. The inputs are potential-free and can be connected to doorbell-type buttons with automatic return. You can use just buttons, just PIR sensors, or a combination, depending on your system needs.
